What Data Is Deleted vs. Retained

Permanently Erased / Anonymised Data
  • Profile Information: Full name, display name, headline, bio, profile photo, company cover image.
  • Contact Details: Phone number, email address (anonymised with a non-recoverable hash), home/business address.
  • Authentication: Passwords, session cookies, mobile Bearer tokens, and device push notification tokens.
  • Verification Documents: Identity cards, passports, CSCS cards, and trade certificates (removed from active storage).
  • Portfolio Projects: Project galleries, trade descriptions, and uploaded images.
  • Saved Favourites: Saved provider and subcontractor bookmarks.
Legally Retained Records (Statutory Compliance)

Under UK and EU law (including HMRC regulations, the Companies Act, and Anti-Money Laundering legislation), financial and booking transaction ledgers cannot be expunged immediately:

  • Financial & Invoicing Ledgers: Invoices, payout records, platform commission receipts, and VAT documentation are archived for up to 6 years in accordance with statutory accounting requirements.
  • Completed Contract History: Historical booking dates, amounts, and dispute resolution summaries are retained in anonymised form to protect both parties and resolve potential legal claims.
  • Safety & Fraud Prevention: Anonymised identifiers may be retained to prevent circumvention of safety bans or repeated platform abuse.

Conditions Before Deleting

Active Bookings & Unresolved Disputes

To protect both Clients and Providers from fraud, unfulfilled labour contracts, and unpaid escrow funds:

  • You cannot delete your account while you have an active job (status: Requested, Accepted, Paid, In Progress, or Submitted for Review).
  • You cannot delete your account while you have an open dispute under review.
  • You must complete or cancel active bookings and withdraw any remaining wallet balance before requesting deletion.

30-Day Recovery Grace Period

Accidental Deletion Protection

Once account deletion is requested, your public profile is immediately hidden from marketplace search and your login sessions are revoked. However, your account enters a 30-day grace period. If you requested deletion by mistake, you can restore your account within 30 days simply by signing back in with your original credentials. After 30 days, the anonymisation process is permanent and irreversible.
